Applicable on flat dry surfaces, even glass
Large Room Application
Our two sizes for murals match most standard sized walls. Liven up the entire room environment with a mural to match your furniture, or use it as an illusion to make a smaller area seem larger.
Small Room Application
The vinyl mural material can be easily trimmed with a sharp blade. Create a one-of-a-kind setting for childrens play rooms or reading corners by picking out a part of the mural that calls out to you.
Regardless of the size, our mural artwork are all ultra high resolution images meaning youll get crystal clear* images even if youre standing just a few feet away.
*Please note: real photographic images may appear less clear due to it being an actual photo rather than an illustration.
Basic installation tips
Depending on the size of your surface it may be helpful to have someone to help you with installation
Be sure to start with a smooth, clean surface (preferably non-glossy wall paint).
Remove hooks, light fixtures, and wall plates; fill cracks and holes with spackling compound and sand until smooth.
Do not pre-trim your mural.
Make sure you approve your mural layout before trimming any excess material.
Multi-panel murals have an overlap along the seams. This is not a printing error.
If your mural sticks to itself, slowly peel the two sides apart by dipping your fingers in some rubbing alcohol, then working them between the areas stuck. Gently pull apart.
The same mural can be safely applied and removed many times without losing adhesion.
To remove your mural from the surface, slowly and gently peel from the top on a 120 degree angle.
Tools to make installation even easier:
Tape measure and straight edge
Sharp knife or boxcutter
Smoothing tool or towel
Remove your mural from its shipping tube. The mural comes with backing paper, which protects the adhesive. Keep this backing paper on and lay the wall graphic on a flat surface. This will allow the wall graphic to adjust to room temperature and ensure the best installation.
Try not to let the adhesive backing come together, or let the material roll up against itself. If it does, slowly separate the two sides apart by dipping your fingers in some rubbing alcohol, then working them between the areas stuck. Gently pull apart. Once the alcohol evaporates, the adhesive will return to its original tack.
With the help of a friend position the mural on the prepared surface. Start at the top of your print and pull down approximately 3-6 inches of the backing paper. By lightly pressing and smoothing from the center outwards, apply the exposed adhesive area of your print to the chosen surface. Firmly press down with your palm and smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles.
Then continue to slowly peeling the backing paper downward in small increments, pressing and smoothing as you go. Once the process is started it might be easier if another person holds the bottom and pulls down slightly, giving some tension, while keeping it square and straight.
Then trim excess material, if necessary.
Surfaces and Precautionary Measures
If youve recently painted your walls, please give the paint at least 30 days to fully cure prior to installing your mural. Bubbling or entire peeling of the mural may occur if the paint is still curing, due to chemical in the paint trying to evaporate -- which weakens the adhesive. Its also important to make sure drywall painted surfaces and repainted surfaces have been properly primed to prevent paint peel offs upon removal. Please understand that not all surfaces are equally strong, meaning some may find that paint may partially chip off when removing the wall decal. We strongly recommend that the material is stuck on a flat, smooth, clean and dry surface for best results.
If you have a textured wall, it would help to work the mural into the pattern of you wall with a blow dryer on medium to high heat; until you can see the texture on the surface of the mural. This ensures that the murals adhesive has full contact and support to the wall.
Measure the area you plan to start installing.
If your wall length or height is larger than the dimensions of the mural, itll look best when there is an even distance between the edges of the wall and the start of your mural.
We recommend using some masking tape or painters tape to hold down the first panel, to help you with alignment and positioning.
The final flow of your mural is entirely based on the proper installation of the first panel!
Once you are satisfied with the placement of the first panel, begin removing the mural backing and cut off the excess backing paper.
Begin applying the mural by pressing from the bottom up, to ensure a taut adhesion of the top area.
Do not do any trimming until after the full and complete installation of all your panels. Remove tape as you pass them.
Slowly peel off the remaining backing of the mural while smoothing down in a side to side motion as you go.
Peeling off the backing 6 inches at a time prevents your mural from sticking on the wall altogether or sticking to itself.
If your mural is a single piece, your installation is complete!
If you have multiple panels, continue installation by first aligning the panels and taping them down to get a general idea of the alignment.
Remember, all our murals have a 1 inch overlap at the beginning and end of each panel. If you dont overlap, your pattern will not align.
Repeat the process for all remaining panels. Remember that there are overlaps for each panel all across until the end.
If you dont overlap, your pattern will not align.
Once youre done with all the panels, trim off excessive mural by using a sharp knife and a straight edge to guide your cut.
You may also cut off the excessive overlap if you wish for a smoother finish.
